What is GDA?
A three day theoretical and practical course on Genomic Data Analysis.

Who organizes GDA?
The course is organized by the Computational Genomics Department of the Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe (CIPF) in Valencia and the CIBERER in the context of the BIER project.

Who is the target audience?
The course is oriented to experimental researchers and other CIBERER personnel who want to gain acquaintance with next generation sequencing genomic data analysis techniques.

Why attending this course?
Next generation sequencing data allows the study of biological processes at an unprecedented level of detail. However, transforming such genomic data into valuable biological information is not an easy task. Data analysis is still a major bottleneck for many researchers which are still applying inadequate statistical methods for the interpretation of their genomic results. The aim of this course is to familiarize the students with the latest analysis methodologies and to provide hands-on training on the analytical approaches implemented in advanced software packages and webtools. Lectures and hands-on sessions are taught in the facilities of the CIPF, which provide the ideal environment for the organization of bioinformatic courses.

What else?
The course will favour networking and exchange within the CIBERER and BIER projects, promoting a fruitful dialog between teachers and students.
