Probes, Spots or Features

In the microarray context we call probes, spots or features to any of the spots in the surface of the glass that has attached the same DNA sequence and that is build to interrogate a gene.

Sometimes probes or features may also be understood as the DNA sequences of the genes that the array interrogates.
